About Us
Webb Australia has a Proud History and a Reputation built over 50 years
The company was founded in 1956 to provide custom engineered conveyor systems to industry and continues to have a strong presence in Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia. The business began operations as K. G. Coles & Co., later as Conveyor Company of Australia Pty Ltd, and then as Webb Conveyor Company of Australia. Throughout our trading history, the company has been a licensee of Jervis B. Webb International.
Over the years, the company has been involved in many Australian "firsts" such as:
- 1956 - Towveyor installation at Coles
- 1962 - Introduction of Power & Free Overhead conveyors at Holden
- 1968 - Rotating Restaurant Floors on 47th level of Sydney's Australia Square
- 1970 - Baggage Handling conveyor system at Melbourne International terminal
- 1984 - Introduction of Power & Free Inverted conveyor system at Toyota
- 2004 - Inductive Electrified Monorail System at Mitsubishi
- 2004 - Automatic Storage and Retrieval System for vehicle bodies at Mitsubishi
The company is fully Australian owned and trades as Webb Australia, reflecting our broader capabilities including:
Webb Australia continues to be an independent licensee of Jervis B. Webb International, a highly successful arrangement for over 50 years, and offer the complete range of high quality materials handling technology, synonymous with the Webb name.
